EC bans politicians entry in violence-hit Cooch Behar for next 72 hours

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday gave a clean chit to the CISF for opening fire in Sitalkurchi Assembly constituency in Cooch Behar district during the fourth phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal that left four persons dead, saying that opening fire "became necessary to save the lives of the voters" and it was made in "self-defence".
