Two versions of the incident came out from the Jaipur airport, in which CISF alleged that its jawan was slapped by a female employee of airline, while SpiceJet claimed that its staff was subjected to sexual harassment.
In its response, the SpiceJet said the offloaded baggage will be connected through subsequent flights. The airline also "deeply regretted" to the inconvenience caused to passengers.
The development comes as the SpiceJet airline is grappling with multiple headwinds, including lessor woes and is in the process of raising funds.
The announcement has come amid reports that SpiceJet may lay off at least 1,000 employees in the coming days as the airline works to significantly reduce costs and streamline operations of its depleted aircraft fleet.
Domestic passenger traffic rose by 4.69 per cent compared to January of the previous year, reaching 1.31 crore passengers.
Currently, the airline operates with around 9,000 employees and maintains a fleet of about 30 planes.
