Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Family Welfare Nido Pavitra, who is the father of Tania, demanded enacting a strong anti-racial law and exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in the killing of his son.

Earlier, while moving the resolution, Felix asked when the entire country unequivocally condemned the incident, why such an Act couldn't be passed by the Parliament.

Nido died after he was allegedly beaten up by some shopkeepers in New Delhi following an altercation sparked by their taunts on his hairstyle.

The House also adopted another private member's resolution brought by Congress MLA Karya Bagang and resolved to initiate steps with the Centre for setting up of oil storage depots at Bhalukpong, Likabali, Pasighat, Roing, Namsai, Miao, Deomali and Kanubari to minimise the problems of the people during economic blockades or bandhs imposed by organisations in neighbouring Assam.
