5) Ghaziabad: 6-Year-Old allegedly beaten by teacher for not doing homework

Ghaziabad: A kindergarten teacher was arrested in Ghaziabad, near Delhi, for supposedly beating up a 6-year-old student with an iron ruler for not finishing her homework.

The teacher has been booked under section 323 of the Indian Penal Code for "voluntarily causing injury" and Uttar Pradesh's child protection laws. Offences registered under section 323 are non-cognizable.

Zainab Bibi, 42, supposedly told authorities she killed her husband Ahmad Abbas as he tried to sexually assault her 17-year-old daughter from another marriage. She even said to police that she sedated her husband by mixing sleeping pills in his tea and strangled him with rope before dismembering him.
