The girl is presently fighting for her life with 90 per cent burns in PGI hospital, Rohtak.
According to the rape victim's mother, the girl was raped by her neighbour on January 5 and was later given death threats. The rape victim was living in terror and she had not taken meals for the last two days.
On Friday, the girl locked herself inside a room, poured kerosene on her body and set herself on fire, police said.
Police have arrested the man accused of rape, says DSP Balbir Singh.
