Mumbai: Mumbai police has been given  a horrifying CCTV footage of a rash driver running his car over a woman crossing the road in Goregaon.

The footage clearly shows the woman trying to cross the road, when the Toyota Innova vehicle hits her. The vehicle drags on the woman for several feet, and yet the driver did not stop, and sped away.

The accident took place on S V Road in Goregaon on December 8 at around 6 am when the woman went out to buy milk.

The injured woman is presently critical in the neurology department of Bombay Hospital. Despite getting hold of the CCTV footage, police is yet to find any clue about the car and its driver.

The critically injured woman Rajmati Jain has three daughters, and she is still in a state of shock. Her husband passed away seven years ago.

One of her daughters told India TV that her mom went to fetch milk at around 6 am. "I was in hurry to go to college and I left at around 7 am. When my mom did not return till 8 am, we informed police, who said they had a road accident case with them. On verifying we found it was my mom".

"We gave police the CCTV footage of the errant driver, but police is yet to take any action", Rajmati Jain's daughter said.  

"We want that the accused be arrested soon. If he had an iota of humanity left, he should have stopped after the mishap, when my mom was lying on the road bleeding. Later, police took her to Nair Hospital, from where he shifted her to Bombay Hospital", said the daughter.
