Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rashid, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, had contested as an Independent candidate against National Conference leader Omar Abdullah in Baramulla, and emerged victorious. He had sought an interim bail to take oath in the Lok Sabha.
In his plea, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had sought the extension of the interim bail on health grounds, stating that he has lost seven kgs since his arrest in March.
The plea said the Delhi Chief Minister is required to undergo some medical tests and for this purpose, the interim bail, which is ending on June 1, be extended. In his plea, Kejriwal said he would surrender before jail authorities on June 9, instead of June 2.

Earlier on May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case linked to the liquor scam case. After being released from jail, he has been involved in campaigning for the INDIA bloc for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
The case was registered following a complaint by the woman's son, who alleged that his mother was sexually abused by HD Revanna's son Prajwal Revanna.
Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 this year and is currently behind the bars at Tihar under judicial custody. On May 7, the bench, also comprising Justice Dipankar Datta, had reserved its verdict on interim bail to Kejriwal.
