Sports fraternity mourns Sridevi's demise; Sachin Tendulkar says it's hard to digest

After Sridevi passed away late last night reportedly due to cardiac arrest in Dubai, Sachin Tendulkar said that it is hard to digest that the veteran actress is no more.

Mourning the sudden demise of Sridevi, India's batting legend Sachin Tendulkar said that it is hard to digest that the veteran actress is no more. The 54-year-old actress passed away late last night reportedly due to cardiac arrest in Dubai, where she had gone along with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding.

"It is really sad. When I woke up and read about it ... it is really sad I have no words to express because we all grew up watching her and suddenly to hear that she is no longer with us is hard to digest," Tendulkar said after flagging off the 3rd IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon.

"My condolences to her family members and everyone who followed her and loved her for everything that she was and everything she did for us," he added.

Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore took to Twitter to express grief over her demise and said he was shocked to hear about the actor's death.

"Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Sridevi ji, a legend of Indian Cinema. May god give peace to her soul & strength to family, friends and fans. ? ?????," said Rathore.

Ace Badminton player P. V. Sindhu also took to Twitter to mourn her demise.

"Such sad and shocking news. My condolences to the family RIP Sridevi," she added.

The cricket fraternity took to social media to pay their condolences and tribute to the Bollywood actress who has worked in the film industry for over 40 years.
