Kathmandu: The Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-M) has threatened to boycott the constituent assembly if cases of alleged rigging are not addressed immediately.

The Maoists took the tough stand after its supreme leader  Pushpa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda suffered a humiliating defeat in the elections.

The party also demanded immediate suspension of vote counting, a demand other political parties rejected immediately.

The initial results suggest that the single largest party in Nepal's 2008 Constituent Assembly elections, the Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-M), is likely to lose a significant number of seats in the second CA poll.
