The government on Saturday cut excise duty on petrol by a record Rs 8 per litre and that on diesel by Rs 6 per litre to give relief to consumers battered by high fuel prices that have also pushed inflation to a multi-year high.
After the revision of rates, a 14.2kg LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1003 in Delhi. In Kolkata, the rates have been revised to Rs 1029 per cylinder, and in Chennai a cylinder will cost Rs 1018.5 after the rate hike.
Due to the rise in international energy prices, government hikes domestic LPG cylinder price by Rs 50.
Earlier on April 1, the price of 19-kg commercial LPG was hiked by Rs 250 per cylinder.
Diesel consumption was higher due to strong demand from agriculture sector as well as stocking up by consumers and petrol pumps in anticipation of a price hike.
From April 1, commercial LPG cylinder becomes more expensive. The price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or cooking gas was increased by Rs 250 per 19-kilogram cylinder from Friday. After the revision, the price of 19-kg cylinder in the national capital stands at Rs 2,253 per unit. In Kolkata, a cylinder will cost Rs 2,351. In Mumbai and Chennai, it will carry a price tag of Rs 2,205 and 2,406, respectively.
Cooking gas price hike, LPG cylinder price hike: Restaurants, eateries, tea stalls and others constitute the largest user segment of the 19 kg cylinder.
Petrol and diesel prices were on Tuesday hiked by 80 paise a litre each while domestic cooking gas LPG rates were increased by Rs 50 per cylinder.
In the national capital Delhi, petrol price is at Rs 96.21 per litre and diesel now costs Rs 87.47 per litre. With the new price hike, petrol in Mumbai will now cost Rs 110.82 per litre, while diesel will cost Rs 95 per litre.
The Election Commission has already announced the dates and all the political parties have started flexing their muscles in the poll-bound states -- Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa and Punjab.
In some relief for consumers, 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost Rs 1907 in Delhi from today. While the non-subsidized (14.2 kg) Indane domestic cylinder in Delhi will be available at ₹899.50.
This is the 2nd highest price of 19 kg commercial cylinder after 2012-13 when it used to cost around Rs 2,200 per cylinder.
The official informed that they received a call about a fire incident around 7.26 a.m. in B- 65, Laxmi Park, Nangloi, after which three fire tenders were immediately pressed into the service.

The revised rates will come into effect from October 13th at 06:00 AM.

The state-run oil companies decide the price of LPG gas cylinders. The price is affected by international fuels rates.
The LPG coverage in the state was 55.6 per cent in April 2016, which has increased to 106.8 per cent by April this year, which is also a record.
