So far the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced 70 candidates for the 90-seat assembly elections. Earlier, AAP and Congress negotiated for an alliance but failed to reach a consensus on seat sharing. Subsequently, AAP announced to contest the polls alone.
Jagadhri Assembly Election 2024: Since the past two assembly elections in 2019 and 2014, BJP's Kanwar Pal has won the seat by defeating Akram Khan, who held the seat on a BSP ticket between 2009 and 2014. In the 2019 elections, he contested on a Congress ticket.
Karnal Assembly Election 2024: Former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar won the Karnal assembly seat twice in 2019 and 2014. Currently, incumbent CM Nayab Singh Saini is the MLA from Karnal. He got elected in by-elections after Khattar resigned.
Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party today after meeting party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Phogat will contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections.

The ADR report also said that 75 out of the 90 sitting MLAs in Haryana possess assets worth more than one crore rupees.
Both Maharashtra and Haryana are going to polls on October 21. The last day for filing of nomination is October 4.
SAD's General Secretary in-charge Balwinder Singh Bhunder made the remark after holding a party meeting on Monday in Kurukshetra in Haryana, where the aspirants of party tickets from over 30 seats in the state turned up along with their 4,000-odd supporters.
