The Delhi Metro said that to ensure connectivity between the Vishwavidyalaya and the Model Town stations during the unavailability period, free feeder bus service will remain available.
The Delhi Metro network's current span is nearly 392 km with 286 stations. It includes Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor and Rapid Metro in Gurgaon.

In 2008, DAMEPL had entered into a contract with DMRC for running the airport metro line till 2038.

As per the Reliance Infrastructure’s latest annual report, the award is worth around 632 million USD (over Rs 4,600 crore) including the interest.
The disruption in services caused the passengers at Yamuna Bank and Rajiv Chowk station to wait for forty minutes before the trains were back in action. The drives refused to disclose the details of the glitch and were unwilling to talk to the passengers.
"Services were affected for about an hour and a half on a section of the corridor due to some technical issues with the OHE (overhead equipment) line at Rithala," a senior official said.
Currently, there are 347 such separate dedicated toilets (in addition to the regular toilets for other passengers) at metro stations spread across the network.
The DMRC has already covered 75 per cent of the drive in recent months by installing around one lakh LED lights at these locations by replacing the conventional lights, a senior official said.
The metro services will begin at 6.30 am on pink line and 6 am on magenta line on August 22 (Sunday), according to DMRC.
The timings have been revised to integrate the signaling system between the recently opened Trilokpuri-Sanjay Lake and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 section of Pink Line.
The Delhi Traffic Police had also issued an advisory for the Independence Day function at the Red Fort to ensure safe and smooth flow of vehicles across the city.
The metro smart card is already being used in DTC buses by commuters. No cash payment will be permitted and services will be available for metro commuters only, the DMRC said. The DMRC tweeted on Thursday to announce the starting of the services.
