The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 98.14 points to 65,925.55. The Nifty declined 18.75 points to 19,655.80.
The BSE Sensex managed to secure a modest gain of 15 points, closing at 66,024, while the Nifty 50 remained nearly unchanged, concluding at 19,675 points.

The 30-share BSE Sensex registered a decline of 241.79 points or 0.36%, settling at 67,596.84 after a day of volatile trading.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was down by 266.66 points at 67,572.27, and the Nifty was down 67.40 points at 20,124.90.
Sensex rose 319.63 points to close at fresh lifetime high of 67,838.63 while Nifty climbed 89.25 points to record 20,192.35. This bullish trend was further supported by the performance of individual stocks.
The 30-share BSE Sensex opened at 67,659.91, up by 140.91 points. The Nifty advanced 53 points to reach 20,156.45 points.
Notably, the Nifty 50 reached a new milestone by hitting an all-time high of 20,167.65, and the BSE Sensex also joined the rally by achieving a fresh all-time high of 67,771.05 points in the early trading session.
Sensex rose at 260 points, currently trading at 67,729 points. Nifty rose at 87 points to 20,157 points today.
The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 412.02 points to 67,539.10 in early trade. The Nifty climbed 114 points to 20,110.35 -- its all-time high mark.
The 30-share BSE Sensex regained the 67,000 level. The benchmark jumped 528.17 points or 0.79 per cent to settle at 67,127.08. During the day, it rallied 573.22 points or 0.86 per cent to 67,172.13.
