Then Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 in the alleged excise policy scam. The Delhi government implemented the policy on November 17, 2021 but scrapped it at the end of September 2022 amid allegations of corruption.
The Supreme Court was hearing the bail application filed by AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case.
The AAP has been alleging that the probing agencies have made a 'false' case against its leader who has been imprisoned for the last 15 months. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also alleged that PM Modi wants to crush the Aam Aadmi Party using agencies like ED and CBI.
AAP Rajya MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by Enforcement Directorate in connection with Delhi's liquor policy scam after a day-long raids at his premises.
Earlier during the day, the Enforcement Directorate searched Sanjay Singh's residence in connection with a money laundering case linked to Delhi's liquor policy scam.
Delhi liquor scam: “There is urgency and if this case can be accommodated on October 4 (Wednesday),” requested senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, adding that the hearing will require a substantial amount of time.
The bail application was rejected by Special Judge MK Nagpal who termed it "devoid of any merit".

The CBI first arrested Sisodia, the former Delhi deputy chief minister, and excise minister, on February 26 for his alleged involvement in the fraud. He has been in custody ever since. In the CBI case, the high court had already denied him bail on May 30.
In the letter, she described how police officials were deployed at the entrance gate of the couple's bedroom in order to monitor Manish's activities.
The court has allowed Sisodia to meet his wife for one day, either at the residence or at the hospital between 10am to 5pm.
On Friday, the Delhi High Court granted Sisodia permission to meet his ailing wife today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The court stated that Sisodia would be detained by the police during the meeting.
