This development comes after the Subject Expert Committee discussed recommendations for the restricted emergency of Covaxin in children aged between 2-12 years.
As per the ministry, in the age group 15-18 years, 5,78,45,181 1st dose and 4,03,05,973 2nd dose have been administered.
So far, about 96 per cent of all 15+ population in the country have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose while about 83 per cent of 15+ population has received both the doses.
The recommendation also includes fourth shots for those between 18–64 with moderate to severe immune deficiency, Sweden’s Public Health Agency said in a statement. "The goal is just as before to prevent serious illness and death from Covid19," Agency chief Karin Tegmark Wisell said.

The vaccination campaign will also be extended to people having an immunocompromised system who were not eligible for the vaccine until now, Le Parisien reported.
