In a major administrative reshuffle amid the lockdown, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred 50 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers,including some additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and a former chief secretary.
Nishkam Diwakar, additional director of the department of child rights, was shifted to Rajasthan state textbook board as a secretary while Anuprerna Singh Kuntal, joint secretary, animal husbandry department, was transferred to Panchayati Raj department as joint secretary.
According to reports, Chief Minister Kamal Nath might announce a change in the police hierarchy this week.
"Our party leaders met Kumaraswamy at the state-run Kumarakrupa guest house in the city to discuss a cabinet reshuffle and ensure the continuation of the government," Congress spokesman Ravi Gowda told IANS.
The changes were made after finance minister Asad Umar resigned.
The three ministers - Churamani Mahato, James Kujur and Abani Joardar - resigned on Wednesday, apparently under Banerjee's instructions.
