NCP chief Sharad Pawar revealed that some "well-wishers" are trying to persuade him to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The speculation is fuelled over another revolt in NCP after Jayant Patil met Home Minister and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah.
The BJP is likely to lose 3 seats in Maharashtra while its ally Shiv Sena is predicted to win 2 seats. However, Shiv Sena UBT is likely to win 11 seats, thus indicating that the loyal voters have stuck with Thackeray.
The formula is 6 seats for BJP, 3 seats for Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and 3 seats for Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Sources have also said that the list will be sent to the governor after the discussion between the three leaders after the session
'INDIA', the new alliance led by 26 Opposition parties will hold its next meeting in Mumbai on August 25-26, sources said.
Maharashtra politics: As per the sources, Sharad and Ajit Pawar have also been directed to confirm the sharing of documents with each other to ECI within three weeks.

Mumbai news: In a major Cabinet reshuffle led by the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra, the newly appointed Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has been entrusted with the finance and planning ministries. Another minister, Chhagan Bhujbal has been allotted the food and civil supplies ministry.
This comes after Ajit Pawar, who was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister in the Shinde government on July 2, was allocated the Finance and Planning departments.
The distribution of the plum finance portfolio to the NCP, would it be a good idea for it to work out, and would be a significant win for Ajit Pawar, who has been campaigning for significant portfolios for his party ministers during meetings with CM Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Devendra Fadnavis described the BJP's alliance with Shiv Sena as emptional and that with NCP a political one.
Chavan exuded confidence that his party would not undergo any split as witnessed with the ally partners Shiv Sena (which split last year) and NCP (that broke away earlier this month).
While the NCP is eyeing all the plum portfolios — Finance, Irrigation and Energy, Transportation, Food supply, Sports and Youth Welfare, the Eknath Shinde group is adamant about not parting ways with such ministries.
Besides Malik, who is currently in jail, draft charges were submitted against three other accused in the case. The matter was adjourned for hearing on July 24.
