The encounter between the Naxals and police personnel lasted for more than six hours in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district. Police have recovered 12 bodies of Naxals from the spot besides seven automotive weapons, including 3 AK-47s, 2 INSAS rifles, a carbine and an SLR.
The surrendered Naxalites were provided assistance of Rs 25,000 each, and will be rehabilitated as per the government's policy, an official said.
