There were reports that PM will hold meetings with the heads of five countries including Iran, Ethiopia and Mozambique but it did not mention the names of the other two nations.
China claimed that the West has been deliberately hindering the path of those nations that dare to progress at a rapid pace or more than its economy.
"Looking forward to the various deliberations and meetings with world leaders during the BRICS Summit over the next few days," said PM Modi in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
During his visit, PM Modi will also participate in the BRICS–Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue event that will be held as part of the BRICS Summit activities.
While addressing a special press conference on Monday, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra gave a cryptic reply to the reporters who asked him about the possibility of PM Modi meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During his visit, the Indian Prime Minister will also participate in the BRICS–Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue event that will be held as part of the BRICS Summit activities.

When a reporter asked a Chinese spokesperson about his whereabouts during a regular press breifing, he, at first, intended to skip the question, but later, he said that the diplomat was not well.
