The order was passed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kumar Madhavendra of the Barh sub-divisional court here on an application moved by police seeking the Mokama MLA's custody for interrogation.
The ACJM sent him to 14 days' judicial custody. Singh will be lodged in Patna's Beur central jail. "An application for seeking Anant Singh on remand for interrogation could not be taken in the absence of regular court. Police will make an application on Monday in this regard," Patna Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kantesh Kumar Mishra said.
Singh was absconding for last few days after an FIR was lodged against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), following a raid by the Patna police in which an AK-47 rifle, over 20 live cartridges, and two hand grenades were recovered from his ancestral house in Mokama.
