Xiaomi had launched the Poco F1 in August this year, which happened to create a lot of noise in the smartphone space. Poco is a sub-brand of the company that competes with the mid-range smartphones but comes with a flagship-grade premium processor that is seen high-end devices.
The Poco F1 comes with MIUI 9.6 out-of-the-box that also includes the Poco Launcher, but now Xiaomi has announced that the device will now receive the latest MIUI 10 update by the end of this week. The new update will enable the phone to get a custom app icon size, a grid and dark mode.
Apart from this, the update will be fixing compatibility issues that are there with games like Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt 9: Legends, along with the notch-covering issue in PUBG Mobile. The Poco F1 also had an inability to stream HD video on many video streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video that is likely to be fixed by the end of the year.
Poco F1 specifications
The Poco F1 sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with a 1080 x 2248 pixel resolution and gets 19:9 aspect ratio, with a notch on the top. Powering the Poco F1 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that comes paired with Adreno 630 GPU. Other features of the phone include the "LiquidCool Technology", which is a thermal solution that features a copper heat pipe inside the phone that aids in keeping the phone cool.
In terms of optics, the Poco F1 come backed with a dual camera setup on the rear that includes a 12 Megapixel sensor along with a 5 Megapixel sensor with dual-LED flash. On the front is the 20 Megapixel single camera with f/2.0. The phone gets features like Infrared face recognition, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0. It comes in four colour options of Steel Blue, Graphite Black, Rosso Red and Armored Edition with Kevlar.
