Lightning claims more than 25 lives in Bihar in a single day
Patna: More than 25 persons have been killed and scores of others injured as lightning struck various parts of Bihar yesterday, official sources said today. Six persons died after being struck by lighting in two
A woman, Mahtun Khatun and an unidentified 12-year-old boy died in similar incidents in villages under Gohna and Chilauni Dakshini panchayats respectively. One Ramprit Yadav was fatally struck by lightning in Dullapur village of Sheikhpura district, the sources said.
Lighting accommpanied by heavy rains claimed one life each in Bhojpur, Katihar, Patna, Gaya and Rohtas districts, they said.
Two persons, including a Buxar central jail inmate Jitendra Kumar Singh, suffered burn injuries after being struck by lightning in Buxar district, the sources added.
