The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has put an end to all rumours and confusion surrounding the TRE-4 exam pattern. Controller of Examinations Rajesh Kumar Singh on Monday said that no changes are being made to the TRE-4 exam pattern. He also clarified that several other states, such as Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, also conduct exams in two stages. Based on suggestions from the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) and to maintain transparency, the TRE-4 exam will be conducted in two stages.
Objective-based exam
The exam will be conducted in two stages: PT and MAINS. Both PT and MAINS will be objective-based.
A protest in Bihar is underway over teacher recruitment (BPSC TRE 4) and the 70th Civil Services Examination. Regarding the Assistant Engineer case, Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that it is not possible at the commission level to release the relevant results until the court case is settled.
Key updates shared by Rajesh Kumar Singh on BPSC TRE-4 exam
- Two-stage exam: The UPSC, several commissions, and several states, including Bihar, conduct exams in two or three stages. Following the NEET UG exam, the Radhakrishnan Committee also recommended a two-stage exam.
- Misconceptions about the TRE-4 exam: Many misconceptions are being spread about TRE 4. It's claimed that the Bihar Public Service Commission is the first commission to conduct the PT-Mains. However, we want to clarify that the decision to conduct the PT-Mains was made based on suggestions from the Economic Offences Unit and other agencies.
- Negative marking: Negative marking is implemented in all exams; it's the same for everyone, and it doesn't matter.
- Marking for Hindi speakers: "If we don't have this data, where do they get it from?" Singh asked. "We don't even ask in the exam form what medium students will take, so where does this data come from? Nor is the claim that Hindi speakers receive fewer marks accurate."
- No restriction on awarding marks above 60%: Any marks above this amount are rechecked by the Head Examiner.
- TRE-4 exam dates: Singh said that the date of the TRE-4 exam cannot be announced yet because we do not yet know how many candidates will fill out the forms. We will make a decision based on this. Forms will be filled out by September 30th.
- Objective questions: Every Commission examination will now have two stages; both PT and Mains will include objective questions in teacher recruitment.
