India | August 06, 2019 20:26 ISTThe bill which amends the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971, was moved by the Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. It has already been passed by the Lok Sabha. Replying to the discussion on the bill, the Minister said that the amendment being brought is a very limited one and relates to the public premise for residential accommodation. It applies to members of Parliament, government officers and employees.
