MP: Khajuraho-Udaipur train engine catches fire, halted for nearly two hours near Gwalior

Durg-Puri Express: The incident occurred as the brakes of the B3 coach were reportedly not released after alarm chain pulling (ACP). The problem was fixed later and the train resumed its journey at 11 pm on June 8.
The station officials and local police have reached the spot and efforts are underway to douse the fire. No injury has been reported so far.
The fire brigade was informed while the fire extinguishers of the station and the train were being used in dousing the flames, informed the Railways.
According to initial information, the loco pilot noticed smoke in the parcel van in the front part of the train around 7.40 am at Edava between Varkala and Paravur stations and immediately alerted railway officials.
Howrah-Jagadalpur Samaleswari Express met with an accident between Singapur Road and Keutguda after hitting a Tower Car engaged in working in that section.
The fire was reported at around 3:30 am and the fire engines were able to douse the fire after 04:30 am. Normal train movement has been restored on the route.
The overhead electric wire melted due to the heat as a result of which at least 10 long-distance trains were halted, the official said.
The train proceeded towards its destination with other engine at around 5.35 pm after the fire was doused.
Two coaches of AP AC Express caught fire near Birlanagar station in Gwalior today. All passengers are reportedly safe as they were deboarded as soon as the fire was reported.
