Former Australia cricketer and World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke recently took to social media to reveal his struggles with skin cancer. First diagnosed in 2006, Clarke has been diagnosed with skin cancer multiple times, and using his platform, the 44-year-old raised awareness within his fanbase, highlighting the importance of early detection.

Former Australia cricketer Richie Benaud was another cricketer who battled skin cancer. Benaud was diagnosed with skin cancer on his forehead and the top of his head as well. He passed away on April 10, 2015, just months after revealing his struggles with the disease.

Former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower is another cricketer who has battled skin cancer. He was diagnosed with skin cancer on his right cheek back in 2010, when he was England's head coach. After the surgery, Flower made a full recovery as well, and is one of the top professionals in spreading awareness about the disease that affects millions.

Australia women's Lauren Cheatle was diagnosed with skin cancer on her neck in 2024. She had also undergone treatment for the disease back in 2021, with two diagnoses by the age of 25. England's wicket-keeper batter Sam Billings had two operations to remove a malignant melanoma on his chest in 2022. It is worth noting that Billings found out about his condition after he attended a skin cancer screening in Kent. He also spoke up about the dangers of skin cancer and what can be done to avoid it, urging his fans and fellow cricketers to be mindful of the same.
