In a big development, the Mohan Yadav government on Tuesday changed the name of the university named after Rajiv Gandhi and also said that Bhopal's Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology will be divided into three parts. Bhopal, Ujjain and Jabalpur will get new technical universities as the state cabinet approved the division of RGPV. These three names are Central Technology and Skill University Bhopal under which all districts of Bhopal Narmada Puram and Chambal division. Malwa University of Technology and Skills which includes all the universities of Ujjain Indore division.
Mahakausal University of Technology and Skill Jabalpur which will include universities of Rewa Sagar division. Rakesh Singh, state PWD Minister, said Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology has 13 courses, 585 institutes and more than 383,000 students.
According to the geographical location, we have engineering colleges in all the lands in sufficient quantity. At present, three universities of technology have been declared in place of RGPVV. These have different names on the suggestion of the Chief Minister.
Rajiv Gandhi University will be divided into three parts
- Madhyamik Technological and Skill University, Bhopal. This will include all the districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram and Chambal divisions.
- Malwa University of Technology and Skills. This will include all the universities of Ujjain Indore division.
- Mahakaushal University of Technology and Skills, Jabalpur, which will be home to all the universities of Rewa Sagar division.

PWD Minister Rakesh Singh issued a statement on this matter and stated that Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, which has 585 institutes offering 13 courses, has over 383,000 students. Based on the geographical location and for ease of use, we have engineering colleges, all of which have sufficient land.
He informed that currently, three technology universities have been announced in place of RGPVV. These universities have different names, as suggested by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. They will be known as Technology and Skills Universities.
Today, CM Mohan Yadav was in the news for participating in the "Talented Student Incentive Scheme" program held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Auditorium in Bhopal. He distributed laptops to students who scored more than 75% in the 12th grade and transferred over Rs 304 crore to the accounts of more than 121,000 students to purchase laptops. This resulted in Rs 25,000 in each student's account.
Earlier, CM Mohan Yadav was in the news because he had interacted with the people of Bondari, which was Naxal-affected, and had given a gift of Rs 225 crore to Balaghat.
