However, India TV's fact-check revealed that this information is false.

A user named @TamsterzTJ shared a post on social media platform X on November 28. The caption read, "So CSK contacted Sanju Samson again... Sanju Samson, just accept it for yourself." The post also included a short clip of cricketer R Ashwin.
Another post on social media platform X went viral, shared by @CricketWithRosh on November 28, 2023. The caption read, "Ashwin said on his YouTube channel - CSK had contacted Sanju Samson for captaincy, which almost became final. However, it did not happen because Sanju rejected their proposal. But there is a definite possibility in the future."
India TV did fact check
When we searched on Google using keywords related to this, the first result was an India TV news article. This news was published on November 30. The headline of this India TV news is "Did Sanju Samson receive an offer to captain CSK? Ravichandran Ashwin reveals the truth." In this news, it is further written, "Many users on social media claimed that Sanju Samson was offered the captaincy by the Chennai Super Kings team. Now, Ravichandran Ashwin has made a big revelation about it." In the second paragraph of the news, it is written, "After this, responding to a tweet, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin wrote that it is a false news. Don't spread lies on my behalf."
In the same news, there was a tweet embedded below, in which the Indian cricket team's star bowler Ravichandran Ashwin responded to a user making claims about Sanju Samson. Ashwin wrote in response to the tweet from @CricketWithRosh, "Fake news! Don't spread lies on my behalf."
