Until now, this season, the holy dip was not permitted and there were various restrictions but since the season began, the relaxations are being eased with another directive that came on Saturday that pilgrims can now take any route they wish. Till now only one route was open.
As per an order, dated November 26, parents and adults, who are accompanying the little devotees, shall ensure that they carry soaps, sanitizers and mask and adhere to social distancing norms.
The temple would close at 9 pm after the puja and the devotees will be allowed through the virtual queue booking system, informed Travancore Devaswom Board
The devotees will be allowed only on the basis of virtual booking system.
Unlike other temples, Sabarimala is not opened on a daily basis, instead, it opens every month for five days besides its annual pilgrimage season which begins in the third week of November and ends in the second week of January.
