During the earlier hearing of this petition, the Court was told that the authorities had illegally given "permanent licence" to some establishments and religious places to use loudspeakers.
Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana were earlier arrested by Mumbai police after they said they will recite thr Hanuman Chalisa outside Uddhav Thackeray’s private residence.
The loudspeakers row started when the MNS chief on April 12 gave an ultimatum to the Maharashtra government to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3.
Raj Thackeray had earlier given the May 4 ultimatum to the state government to remove loudspeakers atop mosques and warned that 'Hanuman Chalisa' will be played outside mosques at a higher volume if it is not done.
State police have been on an alert, and several Hindu activists have been detained so far. The officials also urged people not to support Sene's calls for protests.
Sharad Pawar's comments come ahead of the deadline of May 3 given by MNS chief Raj Thackeray to the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress govt to remove the loudspeakers from Mosques.
The ex-CM of Jammu and Kashmir said that Muslims had never objected to loudspeakers in temples or gurudwaras.
In Bengaluru alone, about 250 mosques have received such notices and the mosque authorities have started installing devices that keeps the sound within the permissible level, sources said.
These outfits started protesting against speakers outside mosques, ever since Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray demanded that loudspeakers of mosques be shut down.
Following the orders, local police in Ayodhya visited temples and mosques to survey and educate about loudspeakers. And they were met with a favourable response.
