The consignment originated in Entebbe, Uganda and arrived at the Delhi Airport via Dubai.
Six packets of heroin were recovered from the possession of the smuggler, identified as Kashi Ali.
The seizure was made in the Ramdas sector, around 300 km away from Chandigarh.
When the recovered substance was subjected to drug detection test, prima facie it appeared to contain heroin.
The heroin, concealed in 14 gunny bags of a rock salt consignment that was coming from Pakistan, was detected on Saturday, an official told the media.
