While hearing the matter last week, District Judge AK Vishvesh asked the ASI to submit its report by November 28. The ASI has carried out a thorough survey of the Gyanvapi premises.
ASI has completed the survey, which continued for over 100 days. The court had initially directed the ASI to submit the report in September but the latter sought extension stating that the work was unfinished. The court then directed the ASI to submit the report by November 17.

Gyanvapi case: The Varanasi court had earlier granted additional time to the ASI for the completion of the scientific survey of the mosque by November 17. The ASI survey began in July when the Allahabad HC said that step is "necessary in the interest of justice".
Earlier, the mosque committee had also moved the Supreme Court but the apex court had on August 4 refused to stay the high court's order on the ASI survey of the 17th-century mosque located in Varanasi.
Gyanvapi case: The ASI survey began in July after the Allahabad High Court upheld a Varanasi district court order and ruled that the step is "necessary in the interest of justice" and will benefit both the Hindu and Muslim sides.
The court has also ordered that these items be preserved and submitted to the District Magistrate.
