Last year at MWC, Vivo had introduced its APEX FullView concept smartphone that showcased a 98 per cent screen-to-body ratio with an in-display fingerprint scanner and later went on to launch the phone as Vivo NEX, followed with the new NEX Dual Screen.
The NEX Dual Screen was unveiled last month that comes with a new design, but now the company has posted a teaser of the APEX 2019 bezel-less smartphone ahead of its official January 24th announcement.
The teaser shows a curved design without the front camera or even the buttons on the sides. Vivo even went on to post a teaser on Facebook earlier this week with a caption saying 'Natural Perfection'.
Recently there were renders of the phone codenamed 'The Waterdrop' that revealed the curved design with bo bezels, physical buttons or notches. Considering the leaks, the phone is expected to feature gesture navigation and pressure-based integration. The phone is also expected to feature an improved fingerprint scanner. As far as the processor is concerned, the Vivo APEX was powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, so there are high chances that the upcoming APEX smartphone could come with Snapdragon 855 SoC, under the hood.
Vivo had launched the APEX concept as the Vivo NEX in June last year, so it can be expected that the Vivo APEX 2019 could yet again be launched with a different name in the next few months.
