Xiaomi could be working on the Mi A2 successor. The company had first launched the Mi A1 under the Android One program, followed with the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 lite that was not launched in India. Now the upcoming Mi A3 would be the third model in the Android One series.
With gaining popularity from the Redmi series that happens to be one of the highest selling devices in India, the Mi 'a' series phone on Android One platform have gained major popularity as well. The Android One devices run on stock Android that offers a clean bloatware free experience.
Xiaomi is yet to reveal official details of the Mi A3 but according to XDA Developers report, the Xiaomi device codename orchid_sprout has been discovered "while digging through the latest Android Pie-based MIUI 10 firmware on the Mi 8". This suggests that the phone would be an Android One device as previous Mi A1 and Mi A2 also used "_sprout" in their code-names.
The Mi A1 was code-named "tissot_sprout", the Mi A2 was code-named "jasmine_sprout" and the Mi A2 Lite was code-named "daisy_sprout". As if now there are no details of the phone's specs and camera. Considering the great camera setup seen on the Mi A2 that is priced under Rs 20,000 in India, Xiaomi could be making a the Mi A3 camera even better.
