Huawei announced that it shipped 200 million smartphones in the year 2018, making it a fantastic year for the Chinese smartphone giant. To celebrate, this milestone, He Gang the President of Huawei’s smartphone division announced a special edition variant of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Nova 4 in China.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro with Kirin 980 SoC and Leica Triple rear camera system, launched in India for Rs 69,990
The announcement was made via his official Weibo account, where he shared an official poster, which reveals the design of the special edition phone.
The company is offering an Emerald coloured Huawei Mate 20 Pro Commemorative Edition that comes with 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage and a Secret Red coloured Huawei Nova 4 Commemorative Edition that comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both phones will be going on sale in China from 1st January 2019, but the company has not revealed the prices of the special edition phones yet.
Although Huawei has managed to ship many smartphones this year, note that the company has been a part of many controversies too as the company's chief financial officer, Meng Wanzhou, was arrested in Canada in recent times.
To recall, Huawei had launched the Mate 20 Pro in India earlier this month that was priced at Rs 69,990 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant. The company is yet to launch the Huawei Nova 4 in India that was launched in China this month. It's still not sure if Huawei will be bringing the special edition phones to India anytime soon.
