Halmstad, Sweden, Jul 8: World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has withdrawn with a left knee injury from his opening singles for Serbia against Sweden's Ervin Eleskovic in the Davis Cup quarterfinals.
The Wimbledon champion will be replaced by Janko Tipsarevic.
Sweden's Michael Ryderstedt faces Viktor Troicki in the opening match on Friday.
It was unclear whether Djokovic would be back for the reverse singles on Sunday. AP
