Munich, May 23:  Arjen Robben was booed by many of his home Bayern Munich fans when he made an appearance for the Netherlands in a friendly three days after he missed a penalty in the Champions League final against Chelsea.

Robben's spot kick in extra time was saved by Petr Cech and Chelsea won the penalty shootout to lift the title at Bayern's Allianz Arena on Saturday.

Bayern won 3-2 Tuesday in a match that was part of the settlement to a long dispute between the club and the Dutch football federation after Robben returned injured from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and could not play for months. Bayern demanded and won compensation from the Dutch.

Robben came on for the Netherlands with 15 minutes remaining. While a large section of the crowd booed the winger every time he touched the ball, others chanted his name.

Former Bayern captain Mark van Bommel called it “scandalous” how the Bayern fans whistled at Robben.

“After all he's done for this club it's a scandal,” he told Dutch television.

Late substitutes Franck Ribery and Mario Gomez combined to give Bayern the victory. Ribery provided the perfect pass after good work on the wing and Gomez tapped the ball into an empty net in the 87th.

Toni Kroos and Nils Petersen scored for Bayern in the first half, while the Netherlands replied through Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Luciano Narsingh.

The match also served as farewell for five players leaving Bayern—Ivica Olic, Daniel Pranjic, Takashi Usami, Rouven Sattelmaier and Breno—and goalkeeper Hans-Joerg Butt, who is retiring.
