HOCKENHEIM, Germany :  All Formula One teams have removed the front and rear interconnected suspension from their cars before the German Grand Prix after FIA said the system could be illegal.

FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer says, "I can confirm that no car is fitted with a front to rear linked suspension system of any sort." The systems, used to generate more underbody downforce for more control, were implemented to varying degrees by teams.

FIA technical delegate Charlie Whiting wrote to the teams after the British GP two weeks ago saying "the legality of all such systems could be called into question."

Efforts to reach unanimous agreement on the systems' continued use failed, and the teams decided not to run the risk of docked points.
