New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday questioned terminated CWG Organising Committee Joint Director General T S Darbari for six hours and may interrogate some more members of the OC over alleged financial irregularities in connection with the mega sporting event.

Official sources said based on the leads received from the questioning of Darbari, some more officials of the OC would be called in for questioning.

Darbari, a close aide of OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi, was summoned to explain certain financial transactions undertaken during the Queen's Baton relay in London last year. The ED has registered a case under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in this regard.

Darbari is understood to have denied his role in any of the irregularities during the questioning, they said.

Sources said officials of other agencies like Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will also be questioned in connection with the probe.

"All documents brought by Darbari related to the money transactions and grant of contracts to different agencies in London were scrutinised by the officials," an ED official said.

Sources said this has been done in the wake of the British authorities referring to the High Commission a matter regarding A M Films, a little-known London-based company, to which a huge sum of money was transferred through the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The authorities in London have already begun a probe into the dealings of the firm and had contacted the Indian High Commission which subsequently forwarded the details to the Sports Ministry here for follow-up action.

The Organising Committee terminated Darbari today. It had suspended Deputy Director General Sanjay Mohindroo and Joint Director General (Accounts and Finance) M Jaychandran on August 5 for their alleged role in the irregularities.

An inspection by the Chief Technical Examination Wing of the Central Vigilance Commission has found alleged financial irregularities in 16 projects being executed by different civic and construction agencies here ahead of fortnight-long Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in the national capital from October three.
