Khulna, Bangladesh, Nov 22:  Marlon Samuels smashed an unbeaten century and Darren Bravo added 85 not out Thursday to help West Indies cruise to 241-2 to trail Bangladesh by 146 runs by stumps on the second day of the second and final test.

Samuels hit 13 boundaries and a six in 109 from 231 balls. He and Bravo put on an unbeaten 198-run partnership for the third wicket as Bangladesh struggled throughout against the visitors.

Following a sluggish start, West Indies reached 146-2 by tea and continued to pound Bangladesh until stumps. The visitors had earlier slumped to 62-2 at lunch in response to Bangladesh's 387 after the hosts resumed on 365-8. Bangladesh lasted just 30 minutes in the first session.

Fidel Edwards claimed 6-70 and captain Darren Sammy had 3-74.

Earlier, Chris Gayle was out for 25 and his opening partner Kieran Powell removed for 13. Sohag Gazi had Gayle caught by Mushfiqur Rahim to finish with figures of 1-48. Shakib Al Hasan caught Powell of Rubel Hossain, who took 1-31.

Bangladesh tailender Abul Hasan, who resumed on 100, was out for 113 and Mahmudullah was dismissed on 76 after adding 4 to his overnight score.

On Wednesday, the 20-year-old Hasan hit an unbeaten century on debut after the top and the middle order collapsed. He brought up three figures off just 108 balls to become only the second player to make a test century as a No. 10 batsman.

West Indies won the first test by 77 runs last week.
