Kandy (Sri Lanka), Aug 5: Sri Lanka has been fined for a slow over rate in Saturday's fifth and final one-day international against India.

The International Cricket Council says match referee Chris Broad fined Anjelo Mathews, who captained Sri Lanka, 20 percent of his match fee and the rest of the team members 10 percent after they had failed to finish bowling their allocated overs by the scheduled innings closure time.

Mathews was standing in for regular captain Mahela Jayewardene.

The ICC says if Mathews is again found guilty of the same offense as captain he will face a one-match suspension.

India beat Sri Lanka by 20 runs in the match and clinched the five-match series 4-1.
