Dhaka, Sep 9: South Africa women clinched the three-match One-Day International (ODI) cricket series 2-1 after beating Bangladesh by seven wickets in the third and final match here at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here Sunday.






Batting first, Bangladesh women were bowled out for 60 runs in 24.1 overs. South Africa chased down the target in 20.4 overs with seven wickets in hand, reports Xinhua.

Bangladesh beat South Africa women in the first ODI by two wickets Thursday while the visitors beat hosts by four wickets in the second match Friday.

South Afirca's Shabnim Ismail took four wickets to demolish the hosts' batting line-up.

Marizanne Kapp and Dane Van Niekerk, who grabbed two wickets each, restricted Bangladesh in one of the lowest totals for Bangladeshi women ever.

Only two Bangladesh batswomen - Kadizatul Kubbra and Rumana Ahmed - managed to score double digit scores with 16 runs each.

South Africa's Trisha Chetty was top scorer with 30 runs while Bangladeshi skipper Salma Khatun grabbed two wickets.
