No more frenzied beating of drums or loud music at IPL matches to be held at night in Jaipur.

The Rajasthan High Court on Friday rejected a plea by Rajasthan Cricket Academy to allow playing of musical instruments like drums and trumpets or music on loudspeakers from 10 PM to midnight during the upcoming two Indian Premier League matches at SMS stadium here.

So far music was played at IPL matches here as they had ended before 10 PM.

The RCA pleaded that it should be allowed to play music in the stadium during night matches too for entertainment of visitors though the High Court had, on an earlier PIL, directed the state government to follow the directive of the Supreme Court putting a ban on use of loudspeakers and high pitched instruments at night.

The division bench comprising Justices K S Rathore and Mahesh Chand Sharma on Friday refused to allow use of loudspeakers or high pitched musical instruments in the two night matches due to be held on April 11 and 14. PTI
