With left-arm spinners doing wonders in the current era, 19-year-old Sidak Singh promised India a better cricketing future after he emulated legendary Anil Kumble to claim a 10-wicket haul in an innings against Manipur in the opening match of the CK Nayudu Trophy.

Having bowled seven maiden overs in his 18-over spell, Sidak took ten wickets to bundle out Manipur for paltry 71 runs.

Kumble, India's all-time leading wicket-taking bowler in Test cricket with 619 wickets, claimed ten wickets in an innings of a Test match against Pakistan at Delhi in February 1999.

Before Kumble, England right-arm off-spinner Jim Laker was the only bowler to do so. Laker could have taken 10 wickets each in successive innings but fell one wicket short in the first innings of the Test match against Australia.

Sidak made his debut for Mumbai in 2015 at the age of 15, becoming the second youngest cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar. However, he missed many opportunities after being reported for suspect bowling action.

Sidak represented Mumbai in seven T20 games, having scalped six wickets with an economy of 7.04.

Recently, Sidak switched from Mumbai to Puducherry and produced such an impressive spell in the first game of the CK Nayudu Trophy.

Even though he hogged all the limelight with his magical spell, Sidak isn't the fist bowler to achieve this feat in CK Nayudu Trophy. Railways’ pacer Karan Thakur had done the same in the 2013 edition of the event.
