Mumbai: Anil Kumble has hit the ground running soon after taking charge as Team India’s new head coach. Unveiling one of the many new rules and regulations for team players practising hard under his surveillance in West Indies for the upcoming Test series, Kumble has told players that arriving late for the team bus will cost them a fine of $50 (about Rs 3,350).

He further conveyed that an official meeting will be held every fourth day and said that he is always available for any queries and concerns.

Known for his strong work ethics and dedication towards the game, Kumble has set this code of conduct in order to maintain discipline among the team players, who are gearing up for the 4-Test series against the Caribbean staring July 21.

He also instructed that there will be fixed time for massages. Moreover, buddy programmes will be organised where two players are paired to interact with each other so that they can help each other in practice sessions.

“Everything is organised. Kumble wants players to understand the importance of discipline and, at the same time, give them freedom. He knows where to draw the line. The Indian team is scheduled to go for scuba diving in the coming days. These small things have been kept for the players to unwind,” an aide close to Team India told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, Kumble has also taken note of some suggestions and complaints by the players.

Few days back, Kumble had urged the BCCI to handle the logistics in a better manner after the players had complained that the board doesn’t inform them about them their schedule in advance in advance, which causes hindrance in their personal life. They had also questioned as to why the mini-IPL and Duleep Trophy were scheduled at the same time.
