Gian Chand Gupta

Gian Chand Gupta is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Gupta won two consecutive Assembly polls from the Panchkula constituency in 2014 and 2019. In the 2014 Haryana Assembly polls, Gupta defeated Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Kul Bhushan Goyal with a margin of 44,602 votes. In the 2019 polls, Gupta retained the seat by defeating Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan with a margin of 5,633 votes. Gupta came in third place in the 2009 Haryana Assembly Election with 15,717 votes (19.04% vote share). The BJP has yet again fielded Gupta from the Panchkula constituency against Congress leader Chander Mohan, INLD's Dr Kshitij Choudhary, and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate Sushil Garg.
