Test cricket is the ultimate format of the game as it tests you as a player over the course of five days. Even as a batter, a player is tested to the hilt as one has to patiently wait to score runs. In an era where players are hitting sixes for fun, there is one player who never hit a six in Tests.
England batter Jonathan Trott is the player who faced the most balls in Test cricket without hitting a single six in his career. He played 52 Tests for his country and in 93 innings, faced a staggering 8128 balls in his entire career while not hitting a single six at all.

Trott amassed 3835 runs in Test cricket for England at an average of 44.08 with nine centuries and 15 fifties to his name. During his seven-year Test career, Trott was regarded as the best batter to feature for England at number three.

Jonathan Trott also played 68 ODIs for his country and scored 2819 runs at an average of 51.25. However, his strike rate of 77.06 was a major problem in the T20 era and despite notching up four centuries and 22 fifties in 65 innins, he was dropped from the team. Interestingly, even in ODIs, he smacked only three sixes after facing 3658 deliveries.

Moreover, Trott also played seven T20 Internationals for England, mustering only 138 runs at an average of 23. His strike rate of 95.83 is also not great and he hit only three sixes in his career in the shortest format.

As for India, opening batter Sadagoppan Ramesh faced the most deliveries without hitting a six in his Test career. He played 19 Tests for India and faced 2938 balls to score 1367 runs at an average of 37.97. However, he never managed to hit a six.
