Playing in his 14th Test, Boland managed to outshine Mitchell Starc, who registered his career-best figures in his 100th Test, with a hat-trick as Australia made short work of the West Indies in the third and final game of the series and clinched the assignment 3-0.

Boland missed the WTC Final and the first two matches of the series but became the first player to take a hat-trick with a pink ball and the 10th Australian bowler to do so in Test matches. India's Jasprit Bumrah was the first bowler in the WTC history to take a hat-trick, against the same opposition, the West Indies, in 2019, at the same venue, Jamaica. Bumrah dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase.

Naseem Shah was the next when, at 16 years of age, he became the youngest player in Test cricket history to take a hat-trick in 2020. Shah sent back the likes of Najmul Hossain Shanto, Taijul Islam and Mahmudullah in the Rawalpindi Test in 2020 against Bangladesh.

Keshav Maharaj, the South African spinner, is the next on the list, who also took a hat-trick against the West Indies, who unfortunately feature four times here. Maharaj dismisses Kieran Powell, Jason Holder and Joshua Da Silva during the 2021 Test match against the Windies in Saint Lucia.

Noman Ali was the next on the list and the opposition was the West Indies yet again, this time in Multan. Justin Greaves was part of this hat-trick as well, alongside Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair, as Noman ripped apart the Windies batting line-up on a spinning track.
