With 95.17 per cent Hindu, Himachal Pradesh ranks among the top states with the highest Hindu population percentage. Out of the state's population of 68.64 lakh, around 65.32 lakh are Hindus. Hindu culture and festivals are central to daily life in this hill state.

The population of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is 3.43 lakh, out of which 3.22 lakh are Hindus. With 93.93 per cent of its population being Hindu, this Union Territory ranks second on the list.

Out of Odisha's total population of 4.19 crore, around 3.93 crore are Hindus. With the 93.63 per cent Hindu population, the state has a deeply rooted Hindu culture. Odisha ranks third in the top-five list of the Hindu population percentage.
