Ramayana star cast in pics: From Manthara, Janak to Vibhishan, a look at key characters
The mythological movie is being made in two parts with Ramayana: Part 1 releasing on Diwali 2026 and second part with hit theatres on Diwali 2027. Dangal fame director, Nitesh Tiwari is directing the films.
Ramayana is one of the most talked-about films at the moment. Made with a whopping amount of Rs 900 crores, the film has an ensemble cast. While we know who is going to play the roles of Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Ravana and Hanuman, let's have a look at the actors who are in supporting roles.

In the upcoming movie, senior actor Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Sai Pallavi's father, i.e. King Janak. On the other hand, megastar Amitabh Bachchan will have a special appearance as Jatayu.

The role of Ranbir Kapoor's parents will be played by Arun Govil and Indira Krishnan. They will be playing the roles of King Dasharath and Queen Kaushalya. While we have seen Govil in the role of Lord Ram himself in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, Krishnan, on the other hand, has played the role of Ranbir Kapoor's mother-in-law in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal.

The wicked duo of Kaikayi and Manthara will be brought to the screen by Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha. While Miss Universe 2000 will be seen playing the role of King Dhashrath's youngest wife, Kaikayi, Chaddha will be seen in the role of Manthara.
